Learn how to become recognized as a KYG.Trade…
Certified Channel Partner (CCP)
Channel partners include eCommerce platforms, logistics, supply chain and global trade management software vendors, systems integrators, and track and trace blockchains. KYG.Trade provides education, training and certification to channel partners who in turn work with their end-user customers to implement, configure, train and maintain their integration with the KYG.Trade SaaS or API. The deployment models for KYG.Trade include:
Integration into on- or off-premises legacy enterprise global trade, ERP, and/or supply chain management systems;
Integration into eCommerce platforms;
Integration into existing free trade agreement software systems; or,
Deployed in single or multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
Access to download the KYG.Trade Core Application, API, SDK, and documentation does not require certification.
Stand out from the rest and earn recognition by obtaining your KYG.Trade certification.
Our program requires attending a 3-day self-paced virtual certification program and passing the CCP exam.
After passing the exam, the channel partner will integrate and deploy the Core Application and API in its own test environment. KYG.Trade will then perform integration certification testing within your environment.
This process includes technical quality control checks that are performed to analyze the API and provide optimization recommendations.
Upon the satisfactory completion of the above steps the channel partner will become an official KYG.Trade CCP with the following benefits:
Use of the KYG.Trade logo and a listing in our online CCP directory;
Ability to explain the benefits and ROI of utilizing KYG.Trade to the CCP’s end customers; and,
Reduce maintenance time, costs and accelerate the implementation, training and deployment of the SaaS and API.
Certified Attestor (CA)
Trade attorneys, CPA’s, licensed customs brokers and other global trade consultants can become Certified Attestor Experts on the KYG.Trade Marketplace.
The KYG.Trade Marketplace represents a new global referral-base of manufacturers, exporters and importers seeking enhanced professional review, opinions, and attestations. Customs authorities in the country of importation may also utilize the Marketplace for assistance in verifying trade attestations in the country of export. Having public access to metadata on KYG.trade and permissioned access to off-chain source documentation with attestations by independent 3rd party Certified Attestation Experts (e.g., customs trade attorneys, chambers of commerce, Big 4 customs and trade consultants, etc.) will add an extra layer of trust for all stakeholders in the customs compliance process. This includes the party responsible for issuing the attestation, the importer of record relying on the attestation, and the import country’s customs authority.
Manufacturers/exporters can immutably record and permanently store costed detail worksheets containing bills of material, production and other relevant information supporting their tax, trade and SESG attestations via KYG.Trade. Sensitive pricing and sourcing information can be masked and hidden from customers and competitors. Upon request a KYG.Trade Certified Attestor listed on the KYG.Trade Marketplace can be engaged to review the unmasked manufacturer/exporter supplied supporting documentation and, based on their expert evaluation of the supplied data and the relevant regulations, attest that the good in fact satisfies the regulatory criteria.
The CA’s analysis, conclusions and final attestation will be immutably recorded and permanently linked to the good’s KYGID™, adding an additional layer of trust to downstream customers, importers of record, and customs authorities.
Examples of KYG.Trade attestation fee-based services provided by CA’s via the Marketplace include:
Harmonized Tariff Classification Services
On site factory physical inspection services
Forced Labor Certifications
Social Compliance Certifications
Kimberley Diamond Act Certifications
Lacey Act Compliance
Conflict Minerals Compliance
FDA Facility Certifications
Sanction party screening
Trade based anti-money laundering screening services
Manufacturing duty drawback services
In order to become certified, individuals will need to complete the KYG.Trade Certified Attestor virtual self-paced 7-day training course followed by a multiple choice exam. A score of 80% is required to pass the final exam.
Certified Origin Expert (COE)
50% of the approximate $20 trillion of manufactured goods are traded under a preferential origin program such as a free trade agreement. These preferential origin shipments require the producer, exporter or importer to provide a country of origin attestation in the form of a certification of origin (CO).
The rules of origin are complex and in some cases the information required in order to determine preferential origin requires the help of high skilled costly knowledge workers. In fact, a recent World Customs Organization (WCO) study on CO compliance indicates error rates ranging from 18% to 24%.
KYG.Trade facilitates data gathering and demystifies the origin determination process. Our unique platform reduces the time, effort and cost of preferential origin compliance, facilitates a higher level of transparency and trust into the certification process, and significantly reduces error rates and fraudulent claims.
Trade attorneys, licensed customs brokers, and other global trade compliance experts can differentiate their origin skills, qualifications, and credentials with our Certified Origin Expert course. Upon completion, a Certified Origin Expert designation will be indicated in your profile on the KYG.Trade Marketplace.
The KYG.Trade Marketplace represents a new global referral-base of eCommerce merchants, manufacturers, exporters and importers seeking enhanced professional review, opinions, and attestations of their origin claims. Customs authorities in the country of importation can also utilize the KYG.Trade Marketplace for assistance in verifying preferential and non-preferential origin claims in the country of export.
Having public access to metadata on KYG.Trade and permissioned access to off-chain source documentation with attestations by independent 3rd party Certified Origin Experts (e.g., customs trade attorneys, chambers of commerce, Big 4 customs and trade consultants, etc.) will add an extra layer of trust for all stakeholders in the customs compliance process. This includes the party responsible for issuing the CO, the importer of record relying on the CO, and the import country’s customs authority.
Manufacturers/exporters can immutably record and permanently store costed detail worksheets containing bills of material, production, and other relevant information supporting their origin certifications via the KYG.Trade Platform. KYG.Trade estimates there are over 700,000 complex product specific rules of origin included in 480+ free trade agreements worldwide.
The Certified Origin Expert’s analysis, conclusions and final attestation will be immutably recorded and permanently linked to the good’s KYGID™, adding an additional layer of trust to downstream customers, importers of record, and customs authorities.
